2012  LIMITED SPORTSMAN 
 The Limited Sportsman Division combines two types of cars for exciting racing at the Cleveland County Speedway. The class allows for more modifications to the engines and suspensions of the vehicles than the Renegades Division. The “A” Class cars are stock appearing American made, rear wheel drive automobiles. The “B” Class cars are tubing chassis cars with a stock front snout. “A” CLASS SPECIFIC RULES: GENERAL: Open to any stock appearing American car. Must be rear wheel drive only. No trucks, jeeps, or station wagons. BODY: Must have complete front and rear firewalls and floor pan in steel only. Firewalls do not have to be in stock location. Floor pan must be in stock location. Rest of interior may be boxed in using steel or aluminum. Cars with boxed in interior must have a 12” x 12” removable inspection panel to check enclosed area. All interior panels must be sealed to prevent fire, oil, or fuel from entering cockpit. Body must be in stock OEM location on frame and cannot be channeled over frame. Body and chassis must be of same manufacturer. After market tail and nose sections are allowed. After market bodies are allowed. Body can be fabricated from steel or aluminum, but must retain original body lines. Cannot exceed stock dimensions. Must run with hood at all times unless crash damage prevents it. Rear spoiler is allowed, 6in. maximum height. Width cannot exceed top corners of the quarter panels. Side spoilers are allowed and can be no larger than 6in. high and 12in. long, A 4in. debris deflector is allowed in front of driver. Uni-body cars may be reinforced in critical areas including x-bracing in floor. Uni-body cars may use 2 x 3 x .095 tubing in rear to replace damaged OEM frame rails. New rails cannot extend any farther forward than the front leaf spring mounts. May use frame ties. All vehicles must run stock wheel base for type of car being raced, plus or minus 1in. All vehicles must have roll cage . 
CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION: Steering must be stock type in OEM position, no rack and pinion. Steering quickeners are allowed. All suspension mounting points, front and rear, must be in stock OEM location except upper “A” frame mounts which may be moved. Lower front “A” frames must be stock and unaltered. Upper “A” frames may be tubular steel or modified stock. Front springs must be 5 inches minimum diameter and may use threaded spacers or screw jacks. Shocks may be moved out board of “A” frames. Rear springs must be 5 inches diameter minimum and may use screw jacks. Rear trailing arms must be OEM stock and may be reinforced. Upper trailing arms may be modified for pinion angle. Mono-ball type bushings allowed. All springs must be in stock locations. Shocks may be any steel, nonadjustable type only. Rear shocks may be moved. Leaf spring cars may use adjustable shackles. Adjustable lowering blocks and sliders are not allowed. 
“B” CLASS SPECIFIC RULES GENERAL: Open to cars that use a tubing chassis with a stock front snout. BODY: 101in. minimum wheel base. Bodies may be fabricated or may be after market, but must be same make from nose to tail. Stock appearing nose and tail sections must be used. Floor pan and front and rear firewalls must be fabricated of steel. All other interior panels may be steel or aluminum and must be sealed to prevent fire, oil, and fuel from entering cockpit. Hood must be run at all times unless crash damage prevents it. Rear spoiler must be no higher than 6in. and can be no wider than the width of the rear of the car. 6in. high x 12in. long side spoilers can be used. A 4in. high debris deflector may be used in front of the driver. 
CHASSSIS AND SUSPENSION: Stock front snout must use a stock lower “A” frame in the stock OEM position. The upper “A” frame may be stock type or tubing and mounting position can be changed. Shocks may be mounted outboard of the “A” frames. 5 inch minimum diameter springs may be used and must remain in stock position. No coil-overs. Steering must be factory type that came on front snout being used. Steering quickeners are allowed. Rear suspension may be any stock type with the following exceptions. No independent rear suspensions and no after market late model type 3 or 4 links. No coil-over springs and shocks or coil-over eliminators. 5 inch minimum diameter springs may be used. Spring sliders may be used. No Reece Bars, lift bars, or 5th arms. No shocks on top of rear end housing. Any leaf spring can be used. Shock mounting is open. Any steel non-adjustable shock may be used. Heavy duty ball joints and steering components are allowed. Leaf spring cars may use adjustable lowering blocks, shackles, and sliders. Solid control arm 3 or 4 link rear suspension is allowed and may use one Quick Car #66-500 biscuit bar with unmodified Red biscuits only. Control arms must be steel and may be threaded with Heim joints. Must use a full length panhard bar, with a minimum length of 32 in., measured from center to center of mounting holes. Panhard bar must be mounted behind rear end housing. No "J" bars allowed. All suspension mounting points on the chassis must be solid and non-moving. Leaf spring cars may “float” one spring to rear end mount. ALL OTHER RULES APPLY TO BOTH THE “A” AND “B” CLASS: 
ENGINE: Engine can be small block Chevy, Ford, or Chrysler. Any bore and stroke is allowed but cannot exceed 365 cubic inch’s maximum. Blocks must be factory steel OEM blocks. After market or Bowtie blocks are not allowed. A GM 602 crate engine is allowed. It must meet factory specifications as delivered from GM. The carburetor, exhaust and all other normal Limited Sportsman rules will apply. Any 602 equipped car will be allowed a 200 pound weight break and must have “602” in a minimum 4 inch number posted on both sides of the hood. Engine Location: Engine allowed to be set back no further than #1 spark plug, in line with upper ball joints. Crankshaft and Rods: May be stock type steel or cast. 50 lbs. minimum for steel, and 48 lbs. minimum for cast. Balancing of rotating assembly is allowed. Rods may be any steel, no titanium. 
Pistons: May be any flat top. May be zero deck. Heads: May be any OEM cast iron straight plug heads with a Ύ bowl blend. May also use GM production Vortec Heads. World Products SR, SR Torquer or Sportsman II. Dart Iron Eagle SS or Dart Iron Eagle Platnum up to a 200. All heads must be straight plug. No porting, polishing, or grinding is allowed. All ports must remain at factory shape and volume. Maximum Valve sizes; Chevy - 2.020 intake, 1.600 exhaust. Ford - 2.190 intake, 1.710 exhaust. Chrysler - 2.020 intake, 1.625 exhaust. No titanium valves. No hollow stem valves. Steel retainers only. Any steel valve springs. 
Camshaft: May be any hydraulic or solid flat tappet cam. Lift and duration is open. Roller Cams are not allowed. Any adjustable timing chain is allowed. No gear drives or belt drives allowed. Stock lifter diameter only. Lifters with EDM hole may be used Oil Pan and Pickup: May be any steel wet sump pan and pickup. Remote oil filters are allowed. Cooling System: Racing radiators allowed. Exhaust: Any 1 Ύ in. maximum primary tube, standard 4 into 1 collector header is allowed. A maximum 24 in. long collector extension, including muffler may be used. Extension is measured from the end of the header collector to the end of the extension. No tri-y headers allowed. No coatings allowed. No merge collectors or “X” pipes allowed.  
Intake Manifold: May be any single 4 barrel intake. Must be as cast, no porting or port matching allowed. Ignition: Must be stock type, HEI only. Digital type modules allowed. No multiple spark systems allowed. No traction control. 
Carburetor: Must be Holley 600 part# 1850 or Holley 650 part # 4777. Carburetors must be stock appearing. Choke flap may be removed. Up to a 1in. spacer may be used. A 500 CFM Holley 2 barrel may also be used. Air Cleaner; Any Type Allowed Fuel Pump; May use mechanical or electric fuel pumps. Electric fuel pumps must be equipped with an oil pressure cut off switch. . 
DRIVELINE: Rear end may be any stock type. Floaters are allowed. “C” clip eliminators are allowed on GM rear ends, and are highly recommended. Any gear may be used. Positive traction, or spool, or mini-spool is allowed. Wheel spin sensing differentials are not allowed. Driveshaft may be any steel and must be painted white. Front and rear safety loops are mandatory. No quick change rear ends or wide five hubs. 
TRANSMISSION: May be stock OEM, 3 or 4 speed, or automatic. Must retain all gears with reverse. Automatic must retain working torque converter. Straight drive must have single disc OEM type clutch and pressure plate. Clutch must be 10 ½ in. diameter with full lining. No triple disc or direct drive clutches allowed. Mechanical or hydraulic clutch release mechanisms may be used. Straight drive flywheel must be OEM type steel and a minimum of 14 lbs. Blow proof bell housings or scatter shields are mandatory. SFI approved flex plates are mandatory on automatics. 
BRAKES: Must be factory OEM style brakes, disc or drum. No after market or aluminum calipers allowed. Brakes must work on all 4 wheels. Rotors cannot be cut or lightened. Any pedals may be used. Brake bias adjusters are allowed. No brake shut off valves allowed. 
WHEELS: Any steel 15 x 8in. wheel, any offset allowed. Bead lock may be used on right side only. TIRES: May use Goodyear G65 or Towel city recaps. Tires cannot be re-grooved, grooved. siped or altered in any way. Tire softening agents of any kind are not allowed. Tires cannot be screwed to the wheels in any way. 
WEIGHT: "A" class cars must weigh 2800 lbs. minimum after race with driver. "B" class cars must weigh 2900 lbs. minimum after race with driver. Proper car weight must be displayed on both sides of the hood in a minimum of 3 in. numbers, MANDATORY. FUEL: May use pump gas or 110 Race Gas. No performance additives of any kind will be allowed.  
 ANY ITEM NOT LISTED IN THESE RULES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE TECHNICAL DIRECTOR BEFORE COMPETITION OR IT IS ILLEGAL.

2012 RENEGADE RULES 
GENERAL: The Renegades Division is a class that is designed to allow the individual to participate in V8 stock car racing at the lowest possible cost. Very limited modifications are allowed to the cars, suspensions and engines. The class is open to a wide variety of American made, V8 automobiles. Cars may be any stock appearing American Cars or ½ ton trucks (standard cabs) with a minimum wheelbase of 108 inches. Camaro year models from 1967-1981, Nova models from 1968-1980 are allowed. BODY: Front fire wall must be steel and may be moved for engine clearance. Floor pan must be stock, and in stock OEM position. Rear firewall may start behind drivers seat. Aluminum or steel may be used to box in drivers compartment. Cars with a boxed in interior must have a 12” x 12” removable inspection panel to check enclosed area. Any patch panels installed in the floor pan due to rust or damage must be steel. All interior panels must be sealed well enough to prevent fire, hot oil, or fuel from entering the drivers compartment. Body must be in stock OEM location on frame and cannot be channeled over frame. After market tail and nose sections allowed. Top must be OEM or aftermarket stock replica. Rest of body can be fabricated from steel or aluminum, but must follow stock body lines and must not exceed stock dimensions. No fiberglass. No cold air boxes around carburetor. May cut hood for air cleaner clearance. May use 2 ½ in. high hood scoop or deflector. Must run hood at all times unless crash damage prevents it. 6 in high spoiler is allowed, no side panels. Spoiler can be no wider than the top edge of the quarter panel. Uni-body cars may have bracing in critical areas and may use 2 x 3 x .095 tubing in rear to replace damaged OEM frame rails. New rails cannot extend any further forward than the front leaf spring mount. Frame ties are allowed. All vehicles must have roll cage as specified in safety section. 
CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION: Steering: Steering gear must be OEM for make of vehicle being raced. Steering column may be after market collapsible type or OEM with quick release steering wheel hub mandatory. Springs: Must be stock appearing and in original location. 5 in maximum diameter. No progressive rate springs allowed. Shocks: Any steel non-adjustable stock appearing shock may be used. Front shocks must remain in OEM position. Rear shocks can be moved and may use Heim joint ends. Front “A” Frames: Lowers must be OEM stock in unaltered stock location only. Uppers may be tubular or modified OEM. They must mount in unaltered OEM position. Spring spacers are allowed in front. Adjustable spring buckets may be used on rear. Adjustable shackles may be used on leaf springs. No screw jacks, adjustable lowering blocks, or sliders allowed. Rear control arms must be OEM stock and in stock position. Uppers may be modified for pinion angle. .”A” Frames and control arms may be reinforced. All suspension bushings must be OEM type. No mono-ball type bushings allowed.
ENGINE: Must be same make as car. Must be strictly stock with the following exceptions, no factory high performance parts allowed. Cubic inches: Chevy- 350, Ford- 351, Chrysler-360. .060 maximum overbore will be allowed. Block must be factory cast iron OEM production block only and must not be altered in any way. May be zero decked. Late model 302 Ford, 305 Chevy, and 318 Chrysler engines with factory stock hydraulic roller cam and lifters may be used. Must have OEM stock valve train except cam. The rest of the engine must follow standard engine rules. Engine Location: Engine may be set back no further than the number one spark plug in line with the upper ball joints.
Crankshaft and Rods: Must be factory OEM production or stock replacement cast steel only, not altered in any way. After market rod bolts are allowed. Balancing of rotating assembly allowed. After market rod bolts are allowed.
Pistons: Must be factory OEM cast piston or direct replacement 4 valve relief only. May use hyper-eutectic pistons. No light weight high performance forged pistons allowed. The only forged piston allowed is the L-2256 TRW/Speedpro. 
Heads: Must be factory OEM cast iron straight plug only. Absolutely no modifications to ports or combustion chambers allowed. No high performance or double hump heads allowed. No Bow Tie or Vortec heads allowed. Combustion chambers must be a minimum of 70cc. No angle milling of head to alter valve angle from stock 23 degrees for Chevy or stock specification for any other brand. 3 angle valve jobs are allowed. 60 degrees maximum angle. Stock diameter valve springs only. Any steel retainer allowed. Rocker arm studs may use 3/8 in. screw in. Guide plates are allowed. Stock stamped steel 1.5 ratio rocker arms only. Roller rockers are allowed. Poly locks are allowed. No stud girdles allowed. Valves: Must not exceed 1.94 for intake or 1.50 for exhaust on any head. Must be stock or direct replacement only. No undercut heads or stems. No titanium. No hollow stem valves allowed. 
Camshaft: Must be hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifters only. Any timing chain may be used. No gear drives allowed. Camshaft may be degreed. Duration is open. Valve lift may be a maximum of .425 for Chevys and a maximum of .450 for all other brands. Oil Pan and Pickup: May be any wet sump, steel only. Cooling System: Must remain in stock configuration. Radiator may be aluminum direct replacement. Balancer: OEM stock only or direct replacement SFI. Exhaust: May run up to 1 3/4 in. primary tube, standard collector, 4 into 1 header or stock manifolds only. Exhaust extensions may be a maximum of 24 inches, including the muffler. This measurement will begin at the end of the header collector or exhaust manifold, to the very end of the muffler or extension. Fender well headers may also be used. No coatings allowed. No tri-y headers, merge collectors, or “x” pipes allowed. 
Intake Manifold: May be stock OEM cast iron, low rise, 2 or 4 barrel, or Edelbrock #2101 Performer only. No alterations to ports allowed. Ignition: Factory OEM stock type only. May modify advance. No MSD or high performance add-ons allowed. Carburetor: Any 2 or 4 barrel factory OEM stock allowed, or Holley 600 #1850. A Holley 500 #4412 2 barrel is also allowed, with an adaptor plate, if needed. Or Holley #4777.No other Holly carburetors are allowed. All carburetors must be stock appearing. Jetting may be changed for tuning. May remove choke flap on any carb. No spacer plates allowed. 
Air Cleaner: May use open element 14 in. x 4 in. maximum air cleaner. High performance filter elements allowed. May use 2 in. high maximum air cleaner riser. 
Fuel Pump: Must be OEM or direct replacement mechanical pump only. No high performance pumps allowed. An electric fuel pump will be allowed but must have an oil pressure cut off switch. 
DRIVELINE: Rear end must be stock OEM for type of vehicle being raced or be a stock type 9” Ford. 9” Ford floaters are allowed and are highly recommended. “C” clip eliminators are allowed for GM rear ends and are highly recommended. Any gear allowed, differential may be locked. Driveshaft must be OEM and painted white. 
TRANSMISSION: May be stock OEM 3 or 4 speed, or automatic. Must retain all gears with reverse. Automatic must retain working torque converter. Straight drive must have single disc OEM type clutch and pressure plate. Clutch must be 10 ½ in diameter with full lining. Mechanical or hydraulic clutch release mechanisms may be used. Straight drive flywheel must be OEM type steel and a minimum of 14 lbs. Blow proof bell housings or scatter shields are mandatory for all transmission types. SFI approved flex plates are mandatory on automatics. 
BRAKES: Must be factory OEM brakes, disc or drum. Brakes must work on all 4 wheels. No cutting or lightening brake rotors. Racing type pedals may be used with duel master cylinders. No brake bias adjusters inside the car. No brake shut off valves allowed. No aftermarket or aluminum calipers. WHEELS: 8 in. wide x 15 in. steel wheels only. Right side may use outside bead lock. ½ in studs and nuts recommended. 
TIRES: May use Goodyear G-65 , Towel City Recaps,or any 60 or 70 series DOT tire. Tires cannot be grooved or siped. No tire can punch softer than 65 on the tracks durometer. No tire softening agents of any kind allowed. Tires cannot be screwed to the wheel in any way. 
WEIGHT: Minimum 3200 lbs. after race with driver. Proper car weight must be posted on both sides of the hood in a minimum of 3 in. numbers, MANDATORY. FUEL: Pump gas or 110 racing fuel may be used. No performance additives of any kind allowed. 
 ANY ITEM NOT SPECIFIED IN THESE RULES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE TECHNICAL DIRECTOR BEFORE COMPETITION OR IT IS NOT LEGAL.

2012 Pure Stock V8 
1. Any 1968 or newer American car (Except Ford Mustangs) with a factory wheelbase of at least 101". No special order cars. 
2. Complete stock body must be retained. NO cutting, chopping, channeling, shorting. All chrome, plastic, and glass must be removed. Dash may be replaced with sheetmetal. Steering column must remain stock may use quick release steering wheel. Hood pins may be used to hold hood in place. 3. Suspension must be completely stock for that make and model. NO racing shocks or air shocks. All front and rear springs must match model of car and each other with respect to wire size and height. 
4. Engine must be strickly stock for that make and model and in its original mounts. Aluminum intakes on factory original cars must remain unpainted. Repaired engine parts must be approved. NO high performance engines or special order parts. Engines may be over bored .060 must be stock replacement low compression piston, no flat top 4 eyebrow pistons, must be dished. FLAT TOP PISTONS NOT ALLOWED ,must replace flat top pistons with low compression dish pistons! THIS IS THE ONLY ENGINE MODIFICATION ALLOWED!!! No Pontiac 400s.Carburetor must be a stock 2 or 4 barrel only.Cam must be stock lift for model with at least 18" vacuum at 1000rpm. Optional equipment: engine fan, air breather,valve springs can be Z28 SPRINGS, Shims can be used under valve springs limit of .60 per spring. ford solenoid, radiator, and fan shroud (can be made from aluminum ). 5. Exhaust must be stock cast iron. NO center dump manifolds. NO x pipes. NO H pipes. Straight exhaust pipes. Can run Y pipe that came stock on car . 
6. Transmission must be stock and available in that model. Straight drives must have a stock type clutch,pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and flywheel. Flywheel min. weight 26# lbs. NO z-28 flywheels. Automatics may have a cooler mounted in the drivers compartment. 
7. Rearend must be stock for make and model no gear lower than 3.42. May weld spider gears. Positraction rear OK. 8. Tires any 70,75,or 78 series street legal DOT tires. NO truck, mud grips, hi-performance, directional, special order, snow, trick gumball, fancy, or exotic tires of any kind. 
9. Wheels must be stock steel or may run the aftermarket Nomad spoke wheels (wagonwheel style) 7" stock offset wheels only. Large 1" wheel lugnuts may be used. 
10. Battery may be moved to backseat area/ drivers compartment of car securely mounted. 
11. Rollcage required must be 4 point with 3 driver side bars and 2 right side bars minimum.  bars may pass thru front firewall to A frame . 
12. Fuel cell mandatory (22 gal. max ), hole in trunk may have 3" clearance cut around cell.Must have a steel fire wall filling all holes where the back seat was. 
13. NO lead or any type of weight may be added to car. 
14. If car didn't come with it you can't run it so don't ask. 
15. All safety requirements apply to this division. 16.Pistons must be at least .009" in block. 
17. Heads can not vary more than 4 cc's from stock. NO angle milling. 
18. Stock Replacement AXLES only.
19. Pump Gas only.
