GMPLM (CRATES)

We are a NDRA sanctioned track and will follow their weekly series rules.

Please refer to your NDRA packet for 2010 rules. Rules will also be posted on Cleveland County Speedways website when they are released.

SUPERSTOCK 8


1.Body

Any full size American made car or truck with a 108 “ minimum wheelbase(plus or minus 1"tolerance).Car must have steel roof. Body must be mounted on a stock chassis from the same OEM manufacturer.

Any stock body.Aluminum or sheet metal may be used to repair.NO WINGS OR SKIRTS!!! May run 6” rear spoiler must be self supporting can not go over quarter panel sides. Rubber nose OK. Camaros ok, must be stock chassis!!!

NO TUBE OR TUBE TIED CARS!!!!

2.Chassis

Must have a full roll cage and all safety equipment listed in the General Rules. May tie unibody together with steel tubing. Must have full front firewall(does not have to be in stock location) and stock full floor pan past the driver. Must have a metal rear firewall. Rear of car must be closed.

3.Suspension

Must use stock suspension (meaning stock for the chassis it is on). Any shocks, NO COIL OVERS!Must be in stock location and one end must be in the stock mounts. The other end of the shock can be raised or lowered for travel . Springs in stock location only. Stock appearing leaf springs only. Any non- adjustable lowering block. Can run tubeular upper control arms NON ADJUSTABLE! No extra suspension mounting holes and no adjustable links where the factory didnt put them. Adjustable Spring spacers ok. No screw jacks.Camaros must use leaf spring,NO COIL OVERS!!!

4.Rear End:

Any stock type. Including Ford 9”, Floaters OK.

5.Brakes:

Drum or disk aftermarket rotors ok with stock style calipers. Any brake or clutch pedals.

6.Wheels:

Steel only, 8”wide max.May run Bead locks ok on right side ONLY.

7.Tires:

60 or 70 series stock over the counter street tires. Tires must punch 60.

8.Drive Shaft:

Any steel should be painted white.

9.Transmission:

OEM stock straight drive or automatic.

Automatic must work like stock and have a torque

converter that works like stock and holds as much fluid as a stock converter. Must have a working reverse. 10.Flywheels:

Stock type, must weigh 14 lbs. Must have either stock type clutch and pressure plate . Must not be a lightened down version and the disk must have springs in it and look stock. Or you may run small clutch,ADD 50 LBS! No couplings.5.5 clutch may run flex plate.

11.Engine setback:

#1 sparkplug in line or in front of top ball joint. 0 tolerance.

12.Fuel:

Turbo Blue 110 octane must pass fuel test.

13.Weights:

Stock 8= 3200 lbs

602 Crate engine cars will get a 300 lbs weight break

604 Crate engine cars will get a 100 lbs weight break

14.Engine:

Engine specs: Must match make of car( chevy for chevy, ford for ford, etc.)365 Max cid. Or GM Crate motor part # 88958602, or GM Crate motr part # 8895604.All crate motors are sealed and must remain sealed and can not be altered in anyway, and are subject to be tested for vacuum and compression anytime.

15.Blocks:

OEM ( stock off the street) only.

16.Pistons:

Any flat top. No deck rule

17.Crank:

Steel crank must weigh 50 lbs minimum, cast 48 lbs minimum. Stock stroke + or - .010 max. No polishing or lightening of counter weights or throws ( for performance gain Techman discretion).

18.Oil Pan:

Any wet sump.

19.Head:

Any stock production cast iron straight plug head that came out on a streetcar except Vortec. Ports must not be altered by any means what so ever. Cant bore below valve guide boss. All angles must be concentric with valve guide. No hand grinding. Roller rockers and stud girdles allowed

.750 blend, may have .750 hand blend from top of 45 degree-

7/8 will be wrong! Screw in studs and guide plate OK.

20.Alternative Head:

world products s/r replacement head with these heads, may have competition valve jobs. These heads may be angle milled but must remain stock otherwise.

21.Valves:

No titanium 1.94' Intake, 1.5' Exhaust valves for Chevy must add 50 lbs for 2.02 intakes, 1.6 exhaust valves. Whatever is stock for other brands? +.010 max.Stem diameter/stock stem size for head. Under cut ok.You may cut multiple angles on the valve head.

22.Valve Springs:

Any steel, single or double.

23.Retainers:

Steel only.

24.Cam:

Hydraulic or Mechanical .500” lift max. Hydraulic checked with zero lash and Mechanical checked with .025” lash. Any hydraulic or solid flat tappet lifter. Stock diameter only.

25.Lifter:

Stock diameter. No roller lifter.

26.Intake:  Edelbrock Performer #2101 Aluminum intake. No modifications. Or any intake,add 50 Lbs if not 2101.

27.Carb:

Any Quadrajet or 4777 Holley. Must have Choke Horn. May remove Choke Flap.

Adapter plate if need 1” max.

28.Ignition:
MSD OK.

Stock, any wires.

29.Header:

Headers OK.

30.Added Weights: Must be under hood area and labeled as to what weight is added for!!!


ENGINE CLAIM:

Claimer rule on crate motors only-602 $2650. 604-$4950. Track

will keep $50.

Engine will be received with accessories as supplied from GM.

Only highest finishing crate engine may be claimed. Only

driver on the same lap can claim.

If more than one person claims, the driver finishing the farthest

back gets 1st choice.

PROTEST:

Two things only, $300 with track retaining $100.

Bottom end,$600 with track retaining $100.

UNDERHOOD VISUAL PROTEST:

RENEGADES

 

Any American made car. V8 Stock Autos Only.No, jeeps, 4x4, station wagons. Minimum wheel base 101" with a maximum of 114". Camaros ok must be stock chassis

2. Only hulling allowed is what is required to install roll cage. Must have rear firewall. (Hood & trunk may be hulled).Fender wells may be cut for tire clearance. Front and rear inner fenders may be removed

3. Aluminum Radiator OK.

4. Fender wells may be cut for tire clearance.

5. Front and rear inner fenders may be removed.

6. Fuel cell mandatory.

7. All glass and chrome must be removed.

8. Suspension must be stock. May run racing spring's adjustable buckets OK. One 2" lowering block maximum each Side. Top A frame may be cut for caster and camber top a arm only may be tube non adjustable. Bushing may be steel or nylon.No Screw jacks!

9. Positive traction, limited slip, or locked rear ends allowed.

10. Racing pedals Ok allowed with only 1 Master cylinder..

11. Axle after market allowed for safety.

12. Transmission Automatic or 3 speed. Must be stock for make and model of car. Must have working torque converter must be stock Size no smaller than 11". May run transmission cooler. (But cooler can't be in driver compartment). 3 speed cast iron stock only $200 buy rule Stock flywheel (no less than 10 1/2", must weigh 14 lbs.) Clutch and pressure plate must be stock

13. Engine stock for make not over 365 C.I.

14. Carburetor stock only may remove choke flap. May run Holley 600 cfm # 1850 carb. Must be stock appearing on outside with stock tube and float bowl. Must have air horn with number. 1" thick. Or may run a 650 Holley # 4777must pass track gauges. May use a 1" max thickness adapter if using Holley carb on Q-jet intake with two .070" thick max gaskets only. (NO spacer allowed on  Holley pattern factory intakes).Intake: Any cast iron.No Bowtie or Brzezinski!

15. Rear end must be stock, 10 or 12 bolt GM or Stock Ford 9 ",may run floater. (NO lightening allowed.) Spool OK.

May run gun drilled (steel) axles, NO lighting of gears,steel spools, steel hubs and rotors.

16. Street tire Any 70  series. Wheels and tires max with 8".

17. .Wheels max with 8", may have bead locks on right side only.

18. Engine must be in stock location.

19. Fuel pump stock

20. May remove all A/C, smog pump, and power steering.

21. Large wheel studs and lugs nuts OK.

22. Hydraulic cam and lifters only.

23. Piston Flat top must have four (4) valve relief's must be at least 1.300 wide X .090 deep.

24. Heads- no 461, 461X, 041, 186, or 492 castings. NO vortex heads! NO closed chambered heads allowed. Guide plates & Screw in studs ok stamped steel rockers only poly locks ok

25. Valve size - Maximum 1.94 intake, 1.5 exhausts for Chevrolet, and other makes will remain stock size for model. Stainless steel only under cut ok

26. Cam must be OEM maximum lift .425 for Chevrolet; others will be .435 maximum lift. (Stock Dia. Spring. Steel retainer only)

27 Crank: Stock with GM part # with stock stroke Or Eagle # 103503480 Scatt # 9-10442 or 9-10526. May balance (drill hole or weld). 52 pounds minimum weight (cast crank 48 pounds). NO polishing or lightening of counterweights or throws. (For performance gain tech man discretion.) all cranks must be as casted.

28 Rods: Stock steel rods 5.7 or stock length for engine (Scat 3-ICR5700P, 3-ICR5700, 2-ICR5700P, 2-ICR5700 or eagle SIR5700BBLW or SIR5700BPLW stock rod) floating pins ok.

29. Weight - 3300 lbs with driver after race.

30. Maximum .060 overbore.

31. Exhaust - Stock cast iron manifolds for make or headers ok. Header: Any standard 4 into one collector 1 5/8" Max primary size, no stepped headers. Pipe behind collector or manifold must be same size as collector with nothing in the pipe, no Mufflers allowed. (NO merge style or tri-y headers or collectors allowed).

32. Fuel - Turbo blue 110 only! Must pass track test. Fuel cell must be mounted inside of trunk

33.May run roller rockers,must be rocker ratio for make of motor, buy rule $225.00, track retains $50

34.Intake- Any STOCK CAST IRON...NO MODIFICATIONS!!!!

PROTEST: (two things only) $300 track will retain $100.

PROTEST: Bottom End only protest $600 with track retaining $100

VISUAL PROTEST: $25 UNDER HOOD. AFTER HEATS ONLY!!!


 
PURE STOCK

1. Any 1968 or newer American car (Except Ford Mustangs) with a factory wheelbase of at least 101". No special order cars.
2. Complete stock body must be retained. NO cutting, chopping, channeling, shorting. All chrome,
plastic, and glass must be removed. Dash may be replaced with sheetmetal. Steering column must remain stock may use quick release steering wheel. Hood pins may be used to hold hood in place.
3. Suspension must be completely stock for that make and model. NO racing shocks or air shocks.
All front and rear springs must match model of car and each other with respect to wire size and height.
4. Engine must be strickly stock for that make and model and in its orignal mounts. 365 cubic inch max!Aluminum intakes on factory orginal cars must remain unpainted. Repaired engine parts must be approved. NO high preformance engines or special order parts. Engines may be over bored .030 must be stock replacement low compression piston, no flat top 4 eyebrow pistons, must be dished. 
Carburetor must be a stock 2 or 4 barrel only.Cam must be stock lift for model with at least 18" vacuum at 1000rpm. Optional equipment: engine fan, air breather,valve springs can be Z28 SPRINGS, Shims can be used under valve springs limit of .60 per spring. ford solenoid, radiator, and fan shroud (can be made from aluminum ).
5. Exhaust must be stock cast iron. NO center dump manifolds. NO x pipes. NO H pipes. Staight exhaust pipes.  Can run Y pipe that came stock on car .
6. Transmission must be stock and avaible in that model. Staight drives must have a stock type clutch,pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and flywheel. Flywheel min. weight 26# lbs. NO z-28 flywheels.
Automatics may have a cooler mounted in the drivers compartment.
7. Rearend must be stock for make and model no gear lower than 3.42. May weld spider gears.
Positraction rear OK.
8. Tires any 70,75,or 78 series street legal DOT tires. NO truck, mud grips, hi-performance, directional, special order, snow, trick gumball, fancy, or exotic tires of any kind.
9. Wheels must be stock steel or may run the aftermarket Nomad spoke wheels (wagonwheel style)
7" stock offset wheels only. Large 1" wheel lugnuts may be used.
10. Battery may be moved to back of car securely mounted.
11. Rollcage required must be 4 point with 3 driver side bars and 2 right side bars mininum. NO bars may pass thru firewall front or rear.
12. Fuel cell mandatory (22 gal. max ), hole in trunk may have 3" clearance cut around cell.Must have a steel fire wall filling all holes where the back seat was.
13. NO lead or any type of weight may be added to car.
14. If car didn't come with it you can't run it so don't ask.
15. All safety requirements apply to this division.
16.Pistons must be at least .009" in block.
17. Heads can not vary more than 4 cc's from stock. NO angle milling.
18. Stock Replacement AXLES only.
